The Pee Dee Chapter of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association kicked off the Hootie & the Blowfish Summer Tour on Thursday, June 11, at Crossings Golf Club in Florence.
In the boys 7-9 division, Timmonsville’s Chase Broach earned a 58 for first place, followed by Florence’s Ellis June with a 69 and Lake City’s Thomas Welch with a 71.
In the boys 10-12, Gene Zeigler led with a 36, followed by Cameron McLeod with a 41, Jay Smith with a 45, and Takeshi Sonoda with a 47. Tristen McKay rounded out the top five with a 48. All five are from the Florence area.
Darlington’s Thomas Davis, Florence’s Pake June, and Coward’s Noah Dangerfield tied for sixth with a 50. Florence’s Landen Seiffert finished with a 64, and Kaiden Shaffer was tenth with a 65.
In the 13-14 division, Darlington’s Stone Godbold earned a 78 to lead the field. Florence’s James Potter and New Zion’s Rylee Goff tied for second with an 80. Florence’s Cameron Mills finished fourth with an 82, followed by Pamplico’s Noah Mims with an 87. Lamar’s William Reynolds and Florence’s Austin Greer tied for sixth at 94. Florence’s Michael Hobbs finished eighth with a 97; Coward’s Luke Parrott earned a 97; and Scranton’s Will Epps shot a 100 to round out the top 10.
Lake View’s Dylan Rogers finished with a 101, followed by Lumberton’s Hunter McDuffie, 105; Florence’s Dylan Berg, 107, and William Phipps, 112; and Lake City’s Wilson Long, 120, and Matthew Lamb, 121.
In the 15-18 division, Florence’s Luke Freeman took the top spot with a 73. Timmonsville’s Max Holcombe and Florence Michael Rials each shot a 74 to tie for second. Hemingway’s Christian Owens finished fourth with a 78, and Darlington’s Dylan Dickerson earned an 82, with Pamplico’s Reagan McIntyre and Florence’s Harrison Breeden each earning an 84 to tie for sixth. Hemingway’s Zachary Owens shot an 85, and Lynchburg’s Wilson Josey earned an 88 to round out the field.
In girls golf, Cayleigh Jane Goff of Gable, SC, led the 7-9 field with a 60, followed by Hannah Palmer of Lake City with a 62 and Hannah-Marie McKay of Florence with a 64.
In the girls 10-12, Dillon’s Brenna Miller led the field with a 60, followed by Florence’s Anna Grace Smith with a 63, Jennifer Rials with a 67, and Lake City’s Emma Hunt with a 71.
In the 13-18 division, Shino Sonoda finished in first place with a 74. Kiana Baker earned an 85, and Ashley Miller finished with a 99. All three are from the Florence area.
The tour’s next stop was scheduled for today at Traces Golf Club in Florence, and on Thursday, the tour will stop at Lake City Country Club before heading to Governor’s Run Golf Club in Lamar on Tuesday, June 23.
