County Council Awards Recreation
Concession Stand Rental Bid
The Dillon County Council awarded the recreation concession stand bid at their February meeting.  Three bids were received:  John Graves – $2,400, Barbara McCallum – $2,600, and Shelawn Wright –o $3,000.  The high bid from Shelawn Wright was accepted on a motion by Councilman Archie Scott and a second by Councilman Robbie Coward.  All were in favor.

County Council Approves
Recreation Requests
The Dillon County Council approved several recreation requests at their February meeting.  According to the approved February minutes, “Councilman Archie Scott motioned to approve the following requests:  $125.00 payable to Dillon Middle School for student’s Washington, DC trip on May 18 through May 23, 2015 from all Councilmember’s recreation accounts $25.00 each except Councilman Stevie Grice; (Later Councilman Robbie Coward retracted his $25.00 for the Dillon Middle School Washington, DC trip.) $225.00 payable to CON-Concerned Citizens of Newtown, $150.00 from Councilman Randy Goings recreation account, $25.00 from Councilman Archie Scott’s recreation account, $25.00 from Councilman T. F. Finklea’s recreation account and $25.00 from Councilman Robbie Coward’s recreation account.  Councilman Stevie Grice seconded and all were in favor.”

County Council Approves Third
Reading of Ordinance
The Dillon County Council approved the third reading of the following ordinance: “ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A FEE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN DILLON COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA AND PROJECT GEOMETRIC PROVIDING FOR A PAYMENT OF A FEE IN LIEU OF TAXES, THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL SOURCE REVENUE CREDITS, THE INCLUSION OF PROPERTY IN A MULTI-COUNTY INDUSTRIAL PARK, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO.”
County Attorney, Ken DuBose, explained ordinance.  He said that this ordinance deals with Project Geometric in Town of Latta and that the town passed a Resolution authorizing this.  Chairman T. F. Finklea read ordinance and title.  Councilman Robbie Coward motioned to approve third reading.  Councilman Randy Goings seconded and all were in favor.

County Council Approves Law
Enforcement Assistance Agreement
The Dillon County Council approved the following resolution at their February 25 meeting:  “APPROVING LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT BETWEEN DILLON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, FLORENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND DARLINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE” County Attorney Ken DuBose told Council that the sheriff had signed an agreement with Florence and Darlington Counties and that the law requires county council to ratify these agreements.  
The Resolution passed by council authorizes to sign this consent.  It is used to help each other out.  Councilman Archie Scott motioned to approve both counties (Florence and Darlington).  Councilman Robbie Coward seconded, and all were in favor.

PDCOG Board
Member Replaced
The Dillon County Council replaced Andrew Graves in the council spot on the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments Board.  Councilman Robbie Coward motioned to put Councilman Archie Scott on the Pee Dee Regional Council of Government Board.  Councilman Randy Goings seconded, and all were in favor.
