Susan Shine took these spectacular sky photos recently. A local meteorologist told her that “True rainbow looking colors are sun dogs but even more in testing are the big “holes” in the clouds. Those are hole lunch or fall streak clouds. When a plane flies through a certain deck of clouds, they can cause the moisture in the clouds to form ice crystals that fall out of the cloud producing a relatively clear area.” (Contributed)
