Walhalla, SC – Fraughton Godbold Ford, 85, husband of the late Amy Smith Ford, 2214 Westminster Hwy., passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House.
A native of Nichols, SC, Dr. Ford was the son of the late Mr. D.V. and Anzie Carrie Godbold Ford. He was a retired college professor and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. Dr. Ford was a graduate of Wofford College and the George C. Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church and was the secretary for The Walhalla Lions Club.
Dr. Ford is survived by his daughters: Anzie Ford and Claudia Ford Hughes (Chip); brother: Walker Ford; and grandchildren: Julia Ford, Joseph Hughes and Elizabeth Hughes.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church, Walhalla, SC.
The family will receive friends following the service, March 21, 2015, at the church.
