The Lake View Wild Gators earned another shut out win on Tuesday night, defeating the Carvers Bay Bears 12-0 in five innings.
After a scoreless first inning, Lake View picked up three runs in the top of the second. Brent Herlong and Nick Collins both reached on a single and Conner Anderson hit a sacrifice fly to pick up Herlong. De’Ante Bridgett singled to score Collins, and Bridgett stole second before advancing on plays to score for a 3-0 lead.
The Gators picked up eight runs in the top of the third. Josh Price hit a fly for the first out in the inning, and Justin Elliott reached on an error and advanced to second on a passed ball. Luc Newell drew a walk, and a single from Brent Herlong helped send Elliott home. Another single from Collins helped bring in two more runners, and Anderson also singled to reach base. Bridgett struck out, but Carson Rogers and Josh Price both doubled to pick up runners. Elliott added a single, but Newell flew out to end the inning with Lake View up 11-1.
Lake View finished off the scoring with one run in the fourth. Herlong reached on a hit by pitch, advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Collins and a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Anderson to end the scoring.
Weston Rogers got the win on the mound, pitching four innings for three hits, one walk, and nine outs, and Nick Collins pitched one inning for two outs.
On the mound for the Bears, Lassane pitched 2.2 innings for nine hits, 10 runs, four earned runs, one walk, and three outs. Wesster pitched 1.1 innings for two hits, two runs, two earned runs, and one out, and Tyndall pitched one inning of relief for one out.
At bat for the Gators, Connor Anderson was 1-for-1 with four RBI and one run scored; Brent Herlong 2-for-2 with three runs one RBI; Nick Collins went 2-for-2 with two runs; Weston Rogers went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and one run; Carson Rogers was 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored; Josh Price was 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI, and one run; Justin Elliott went 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run; and De’Ante Bridgett 1-for-3 with RBI and one run. Lake View had 11 hits in the win.
Carvers Bay was led by Lassane and Cribb, who each went 1-for-2, and Dennis, 1-for-1. The Bears had three hits and three errors in the effort.
Lake View improved to 7-0 in the regular season as they prepared to host Creek Bridge in a double header on Wednesday.
