Lake View fell 79-29 to Carvers Bay on Thursday night as the Gators and Bears closed out the regular season of boys varsity basketball action.
The Bears took a 23-10 lead in the first period and were ahead 51-16 at the half. Carvers Bay held off the Gators 16-11 in the third and capped the win with a 12-2 fourth quarter.
Eaddy Moore and Arkel Williams each scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Bears. Moore also picked up a team-high 10 rebounds with two blocks and one steal, and Williams grabbed four rebounds with two steals. Terry Bromell scored 10 points; Travell Grate, 8; DJ Goss, 7; Marquiese Goss, 6; Tyrek Reed, 3; Dijon Goss, 3; Molik Reed, 2; Quevon Dickerson, 2; and Norman Geathers, 2.
Duane Nichols led Lake View with eight points and Chavis Nichols and Emmanuel Williams each added five points in the effort. Jame’al Legette scored 4; James Inman, 4; Delvon Bethea, 2; and Xavier Johnson, 1.
Lake View finished out the regular season with a 1-16 record and a 1-9 record in Region 8-A.
Carvers Bay finished the season with a 13-10 record and a 7-3 record in the region, and will advance to host C. E. Murray tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the 2015 Class A boys basketball playoffs.
