The Dillon Christian School Warriors hosted the Pee Dee Academy Eagles on Tuesday night, falling 49-41 in boys varsity basketball action.
Pee Dee took a 16-7 lead in the first quarter but the Warriors went 12-11 in the second to trail 27-19 at the half. The Eagles outpaced the Warriors 8-4 in the third, and despite rallying 18-14 in the fourth quarter, the Warriors couldn’t close the gap.
Luke Price, Jim Carr, and Michael Minges each scored eight points to lead the Warriors in the effort. Ellison Rourke added 6; Red Williams, 4; Jake Boykin, 2, and Matthew Price, 2.
Chase Ankarstran led Pee Dee Academy in the win with a game-high 21 points. Luke Coleman added 8; Tyler Page, 7; Justin Rogers, 3; Gib Fenters, 3; Garrett Jenkins, 2; Jesse Lane, 2; and Logan Hennecy, 1.
Pee Dee improved to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in SCISA Region 3-2A.
The Warriors are now 1-13, earning their first win of the season last Monday, January 12, going 56-21 over Maranatha Christian. Dillon Christian is 0-4 in the region, and fell to Emmanuel Baptist 41-33 last Thursday and Marlboro Academy 49-36 on Friday.
Dillon Christian will be away at Christian Academy this Friday and at Florence Christian on Tuesday.
