Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators traveled to Loris on Tuesday night to earn a 57-48 win over the Lady Lions in girls varsity basketball action.
Olivia McDaniel led the Wild Gators with a game-high 26 points, and Na’Kedra Page added nine. Kayla Page scored 8; Toni Nash, 6; Jasmine Ford, 4; and Hannah Miller, 4.
Loris was led by J. Hickman and L. Harris with eight points each. K. Green added 7; K. Reaves, 6; J. Farris, 5; J. Gore, 5;J. Kees, 4; M. Bellamy, 3; and K. Shepherd, 2.
The Lady Gators are now 4-1 overall while Loris slips to 1-7.
Lake View will host East Clarendon tonight at 6:00 p.m. for their second meeting of the season. The Gators won the first encounter 65-33.
On Tuesday, January 13, Lake View will open region action when they host Latta’s Lady Vikings. The defending Class A state champs are currently 4-3 overall. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
BOYS
In varsity boys basketball action, the Lake View Wild Gators fell 67-36 to the Loris Lions.
Chavis Nichols led Lake View in the effort with a team-high 14 points and Emmanuel Williams added eight.
Shawn Simmons led Loris with a game-high 17 points and Hedien Goodman, Zeke Beckman, and Eric Hemingway each added nine in the win.
The Gators will host East Clarendon tonight and Latta on Tuesday.
