The Dillon Wildcats hosted the Lake View Wild Gators on Monday night for varsity basketball action.
Dillon took a 19-6 lead in the first quarter and pulled ahead 40-12 by the end of the first half. The Wildcats kept up the pressure in the second half, outscoring the Gators 38-15 for a final score of 78-27.
Dillon was led by Raheem McClam with a game-high 16 points. Lawrence Crouch added 13 in the win; JaQuan Knowlin, 9; C. Bethea, 8; Darius Bethea, 7; Rakeem Fletcher, 6; Joe Manning, 5; Omar McCollum, 4; Aaron McCollum, 4; Avery McCall, 3; and CJ Sowells, 3.
Lake View was led by Xavier Johnson with five points and Reco Brown and Anthony Bines with four each. Jeremy Moody, Duane Nichols, Chavis Nichols, and Williams each added three points, and McDaniel added two in the effort.
Dillon improved to 3-1 overall while Lake View slipped to 0-3.
The Wildcats were scheduled to host Marlboro County this week and play in the Robeson County Shootout beginning on Wednesday night. The Dillon boys were scheduled to open the tournament against Richmond at South Robeson on Wednesday. The winner will play the winner of the Fairmont/South Robeson game on Friday night, while the loser will face the loser of that game on Thursday.
Lake View will host Aynor tonight with varsity action beginning at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend home games to support our local teams!
