Florence’s Post 1 earned a 10-2 win over Manning-Santee on Monday night in the American Legion second-round playoff series.
Post 1 scored eight runs and stole six bases over the final four innings for the win.
Latta’s John Kever Love earned the win on the mound, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out nine. Love improved to 7-0 on the mound for Post 1.
McLean Hartz had three hits in the win, stealing three bases and picking up one RBI. Logan McRae hit a three-run homer in the eighth for his sixth home run of the season, and Clay Martin had two hits and one RBI. Latta’s Jackson Williams hit a double with one RBI, and Zach Herndon stole a base and scored two runs in the win.
Mark Pipken led Manning with two hits and Ryan Knowlton hit a two-run single in the effort. Russell Thompson took the loss on the mound.
The second round of the best-of-five series was scheduled to be played on Tuesday, but was delayed due to rain. Florence was rescheduled to travel to Manning on Wednesday night, and Manning will be at Florence tonight at 7:30 p.m.
