Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators took a 7-0 loss from the East Clarendon Wolverines on Monday night in the second round of the Class A Lower State softball playoffs.

After two scoreless innings, the Lady Wolverines took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third, and picked up four runners in the top of the sixth for the win.

Leslie Altman pitched a complete game for East Clarendon, allowing just two hits while striking out six. Marissa Tyndall took the loss for Lake View, pitching all seven innings for eight hits, seven runs, three earned runs, and six outs.

Mikayla Anderson went 2-for-4 at bat for the Wolverines and Jessica Welch went 2-for-3. East Clarendon had eight hits in the win.

Morgan Herlong and Ally Spivey each went 1-for-3 for Lake View’s only hits. The Lady Gators had four errors in the effort.

Lake View slipped to 17-7 overall and East Clarendon improved to 19-4 as they advanced to the lower state championship.

The Lady Gators were scheduled to host Latta on Wednesday night in an elimination bracket game. The winner will advance to face the Wolverines for the lower state title on Friday.
