All six Dillon, Latta, and Lake View teams advanced in the first round of SCHSL baseball and softball district playoffs.

In baseball action, Dillon defeated Kingstree 27-2 to advance in the Class 2A bracket, while Latta shut out Hemingway 23-0 and Lake View shut out Carvers Bay 7-0 in Class A.

Dillon will host Aynor on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.; Latta will host Whale Branch on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.; and Lake View will be on the road to face Charleston Math & Science at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In softball action, all three local teams earned shut out wins, with Dillon defeating Lake Marion 16-0, Latta shutting down Scott’s Branch 15-0 in four innings, and Lake View blanking Carvers Bay 10-0.

Latta will travel to Branchville today at 6:00 p.m., while Dillon will host Aynor on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Lake View will face the winner of the Cross/Bethune-Bowman game on Saturday. The game was delayed due to rain on Thursday.
