Latta Council Changes
Check Signature Policy
Councilman Brian Mason made a motion at the March meeting to supersede the motion made by Councilman Alex Stoops on November 8, 2012 in which two signatures are required on all town checks.
The new motion is:
All Town checks require two signatures with one being that of the Mayor Pro-tem and the other being that of the newest member on Council and with the member of Council who has served the longest being used as a backup signature. The following accounts do not have to be signed by the before mentioned council members, but they are required to be signed by two properly authorized employees or elected officials of the Town: The CDBG Water Grant; Community Outreach; SC RIA grant; Municipal Court Fines; Drug Seizure; and Drug Seized accounts.
Councilman Jarett Taylor seconded the motion.
It was unanimously approved by roll call vote of the council.

Latta Police To
Get New Taser
At the March meeting, the Latta Police Department received authorization from the Latta Town Council to purchase a new taser for $2,071.26. It includes a four year warranty. The purchase was unanimously approved.

Latta Codes Enforcement
Officer Resigns
The Latta Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer had resigned. It was announced at the March meeting that Wayne Prescott had resigned. A replacement will be found for him, the minutes state.
