Bishop Michael Eugene Goings was recently conferred an honorary Doctorate of Theology degree from Cathedral Bible College by Dr. Wayne Miller, President and Founder of Cathedral Bible College in Marion and Myrtle Beach.  He was given this degree in recognition of his lifelong contributions and achievements as a leader in the Christian community of our locale, nationally, and internationally, as well as his literary work through the writing of several books.  Bishop Goings is married to Dr. Louise Goings and they have two children, Jennifer (Demetrius) Rouse and Michael Goings, II.  He is the founding and senior pastor of Outreach Family Fellowship in Dillon and Florence.  Bishop Goings is also the Presiding Prelate of the Fellowship of Interdependent Churches (F.O.I.C.).  He is a contributing columnist to our local newspaper, The Dillon Herald.  Bishop Goings is also a frequent panelist on the syndicated talk show, The Right Side with Armstrong Williams, where he recently was pitted against one of the leading atheist of South Carolina on the topic of Creationism versus Evolution.  He was also a featured guest of Armstrong Williams, owner of a television station, as a part of the town hall meeting on domestic violence, which was aired live on Friday, March 28, 2014.
