A crowd gathered in front of the Latta Town Hall this (Tuesday) afternoon in support of Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore, who was terminated earlier today.
Councilman Jarett Taylor, who was present, encouraged those in attendance to attend the Latta Town Council meeting on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to voice their opinions.
By telephone, Mayor Earl Bullard told The Herald that he would not comment on Moore’s termination due to the fact that it was a personnel issue, but stated that it involved more than one thing and more than one incident.
Derrick Cartwright will be serving as interim police chief.
The agenda for Thursday’s meeting is as follows:
Special Session of the Latta Town Council
April 17, 2014-5:30 PM
I. Call to Order
II. Pledge of Allegiance
III. Prayer
IV. Second reading to change the form of government
V. Grievance Committee
VI. Adjourn
