Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators earned a 6-1 win over Carvers Bay on Thursday night but fell 7-5 to Hannah-Pamplico on Friday in varsity softball action.

In Thursday’s game, Lake View’s Marissa Tyndall earned the win on the mound, pitching seven innings for seven outs, five hits, and two walks. Hayleigh Haselden took the loss for the Bears, pitching seven innings for nine outs, nine hits, one out, one hit by pitch, and five earned runs.

At bat, Marissa Tyndall went 2-for-4 with two RBI to help lead the Wild Gators in the win. Madison Matthews also went 2-for-4; Morgan Herlong went 2-for-3 with one RBI; and Ally Spivey went 2-for-3.

At bat for Carvers Bay, E. Broach went 2-for-2, and E. Weston went 2-for-3.

On Friday, the Gators traveled to Hannah-Pamplico and fell 7-5 to the Lady Raiders. Each team earned a run in the first inning, but Lake View pulled ahead with three runs in the top of the second inning. The Raiders picked up a run in the bottom of the inning to trail 4-2, but Lake View pulled ahead 5-2 with a run in the top of the third. Hannah-Pamplico tied things up with three runs in the bottom of the third, and held off Lake View in the fourth while picking up two more runs to pull ahead 7-5 for the win.

Lake View’s Morgan Herlong took the loss on the mound, while Hannah-Pamplico’s Logan Jordan pitched all seven innings in her first start of the season for eight hits, three earned runs, three outs, and two walks.

Kayce Wong went 2-for-3 at bat to lead the Lady Gators, while Hannah-Pamplico’s Madison Miles went 3-for-3 and Shay Richardson went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Lady Raiders.

Lake View is now 9-4 overall and 2-2 in Region 8-A. The Gators were scheduled to be at Dillon on Monday, and will be at home this Thursday to host Johnsonville at 5:30 p.m.
