Dillon’s Tyshanna Lester was recently selected to play in the girls North-South All-Star basketball game at Lexington High School on Saturday, March 22.
Lester averaged 20 points and almost six steals per game as she helped Dillon’s Lady Wildcats to their first ever lower state title appearance. She earned Region 8-2A Player of the Year honors for her efforts.
Lester will play for the South squad along with Brittany Williams of Kingstree; Sade’ Eli of Timmonsville; and Mary Harriett Moore of Bishop England.
Also on the South team are Deyja Brown, Colleton County; Ta’Asia Wright; Sydney Shull, Dutch Fork; Shekia Joy, Goose Creek; Marci Chestnut, North Myrtle Beach; Zaria Snipes, Orangeburg-Wilkinson; Maya Jackson, West Florence; and Jhanice Stokes, West Ashley.
The South team will be coached by Faye Norris of Dutch Fork. Assistant coaches will be Jude Hunt of North Myrtle Beach and Myron Gerald of Mullins.
In the boys North-South game, Alex Brown of Mullins, Tarik Jones of Timmonsville, and Lakeith Ingram of Hartsville were chosen.
