Lake View’s Wild Gators defeated Mullins 6-1 on Wednesday night but fell 5-4 to Green Sea-Floyds on Friday.

Lake View traveled to Mullins on Wednesday and neither team could get on the board until the top of the third when Lake View’s Carson Rogers reached on a base hit and was scored by a home run from Josh Price to put Lake View up 2-0. Mullins’ Goodyear hit a double and stole third, but couldn’t get any further.

Brent Herlong reached on a walk in the top of the fourth and scored on an error, and Carson Rogers got a base hit to score Stone Spivey for a 4-0 lead.

In the fifth, Weston Rogers and Josh Price each got base hits and Rogers scored on a hit from Luc Newell for a 5-0 lead. Neither team could get any traction in the sixth inning, but in the seventh, Josh Price reached on an walk and scored the final run for Lake View. Mullins finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning, with Goodyear reaching on a base hit and scoring on a double from Dylan Ard.

Brent Herlong pitched three innings for the Gators, allowing two hits and one walk and striking out two. Carson Rogers spent two innings on the mound for one hit, one walk, and six outs, and Josh Price pitched two innings for two hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, and four outs.

DJ Atkinson took the loss for Mullins, pitching five innings for nine hits, five runs, three earned runs, and two walks, striking out five. Gerald pitched two innings of relief for two hits, one run, and one walk.

At bat for Lake View, Carson Rogers went 3-for-3 with a RBI and one run scored; Josh Price went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; Justin Elliott went 2-for-4; Luc Newell went 2-for-4 with a RBI; Brent Herlong went 1-for-2 with a run; Weston Rogers went 1-for-4 with a run scored; and Stone Spivey scored one run after reaching on a walk. The Gators had 11 hits in the win.

Mullins was led at bat by Goodyear who went 4-for-4 with a double and scored the Auctioneers’ lone run. Dylan Ard went 1-for-3 with a double for Mullins, which had five hits in the effort.

On Friday, Lake View hosted Green Sea-Floyds with the Trojans taking a 1-run lead in the top of the first. The Gators tied things up with a run in the bottom of the inning after Weston Rogers reached on a base hit, stole second, and advanced on errors.

In the second, Green Sea’s Upchurch hit a home run and Jordan got a base hit to help the Trojans pull ahead 4-1. Green Sea held off Lake View through the next two innings, and scored again in the top of the fifth as Milligan reached on a double.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Carson Rogers was hit by a pitch ,and Weston Rogers singled to get two runners on the field. Josh Price homered to bring them in for three RBI and tie the game once again at 5-4. Green Sea had three up, three out in the top of the sixth, and Lake View’s Roger Scott doubled but the Gators couldn’t bring him home, and neither team would score in the seventh.

Austin Faulk earned the win for Green Sea, pitching all seven innings for five hits, four runs, three earned runs, and two walks, striking out four.

Carson Rogers took the loss for Lake View, pitching 5.6 innings and striking out 12 while allowing four hits, one run, and two walks. Weston Rogers pitched 1.3 innings for six hits, four runs, three earned runs, three outs, and a walk.

At bat for Green Sea, Milligan went 3-for-4 with a double, a RBI, and one run scored; Jordan went 2-for-4 with a RBI and one run; Cains went 2-for-3 with a RBI; Strickland went 1-for-3 with a run; Upchurch went 1-for-3 with a home run, a RBI, and a run; and Brown went 1-for-4. The Trojans had 10 hits and two errors in the win.

At bat for Lake View, Weston Rogers went 3-for-4 with two runs scored; Josh Price was 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and one run scored; and Roger Scott went 1-for-3 with a double. Lake View had five hits and two errors in the effort.

The Gators are now 2-1 in the regular season.

Lake View will host Creek Bridge for a double header this Friday at 5:30 p.m.
