Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about scam telephone calls that people in the area are receiving.
He said that the callers are telling the public that they are the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office or a law enforcement agency and that they have to have a certain amount of money or be arrested.
Arnette said that no one from the Sheriff’s Office will call you and that they don’t take money.
He said do not send any money or give out any financial information over the phone.
If you have any concerns about a call that you have received, please call the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office at 774-1432.
