Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators picked up a 51-34 win over Aynor’s Lady Blue Jackets on Friday night in girls varsity basketball action.

The Lady Gators pulled ahead 15-5 in the first quarter, and lead 23-15 at the half. Aynor attempted to close the cap a bit in the third, outpacing Lake View 9-7, but the Lady Gators poured in the points for a 21-10 fourth quarter to seal the win.

Jasmine Ford scored a game-high 27 points to lead Lake View in the win, and Olivia McDaniel added 18 for the Gators. Diayah Williams earned three points; Toni Nash scored two; and Kayla Page added one point in the win.

Desiree Strickland and Diayah Williams each grabbed nine rebounds for the Gators, with Chelsea Williams grabbing seven and Toni Nash and Kayla Page each picking up six. Jasmine Ford grabbed five, and Olivia McDaniel and Tranya Ford each snagged three.

Ford and Page each made four assists, and McDaniel made three, with Strickland assisting twice and Ford and Diayah Williams each adding an assist. McDaniel, Ford, and Strickland each made five steals in the win, with Page making 3; Pamela Butler, 2; Chelsea Williams, 2; Toni Nash, 1; and Tranya Ford, 1. Page also made two blocks for Lake View, and Strickland, Nash, Williams, and McDaniel each made one block in the win.

Alexis Rogers led Aynor with a team-high 10 points and Ayawna Deas added nine in the effort. Catrisha Nash scored 6; Annie Kroger, 4; Kayla Gerreld, 4; and Elle Griffin, 1.

Lake View’s ladies improved to 6-3 overall with the win.

In the most recent coaches poll, the Lady Gators were ranked 10th in the state in Class A girls basketball. Hemingway topped the list, followed by Timmonsville, Carvers Bay, and Latta.

Lake View will open region play tonight when they host Johnsonville at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, the Lady Gators will be at Hannah-Pamplico, and on Tuesday, the Gators will travel to face Creek Bridge.
