The Dillon Wildcats won 14-0 over Timberland and are headed to the state championship.
Scoring the two touchdowns were Joe Blue and Anthony Blue. Tara Grimsley kicked both extra points. All scoring took place in the second half. This was Dillon’s eighth shut-out this season.
The Wildcats will play Fairfield-Central for the 2A Division I State Championship on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Benedict College in Columbia.
Fairfield-Central defeated Cheraw, 37-13, to secure their spot in the championship game. Fairfield-Central has a 13-0 record.
The state title game is a re-match of last year’s state championship game in which Dillon defeated Fairfield-Central with a score of 21-6 giving Dillon its third state championship in five years. This is Dillon’s fifth state championship in six seasons.
