A local man is traveling by wagon train on the Myrtle Beach AHA ride to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Gene Driggers will take the 113 mile trip beginning on October 25th.
His group of 72 people has raised over $25,000. The top fundraiser is Jerri Krueger of Arkansas, who has raised approximately $3,700.
Driggers and his group will leave at 9 a.m. on Oct. 25th. They will go form Baker’s Mill road to Stateline Road, cross at 301 and Kathleen Road out through Cotton Valley. They will head down Stewart Mill Road and Butler Road and end up at 2031 Pleasant Hill Road where they will stay on Friday night.
The public is invited to come out and see the horses and wagons and to contribute to this worthy cause.
On Saturday night, they will head to Fair Bluff, and by Tuesday, they will be arriving at the beach, where they will stay from October 30-November 3.
Riders from Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Arkansas are among those participating.
Anyone interested in riding is asked to call Driggers at 910-217-1555.
