Lake View’s #22 Christian McDaniel carries over the Eagles’ defense for his second touchdown of the night.
The Lake View Wild Gators celebrated homecoming with their first win of the season, finishing 30-12 over the visiting Military Magnet Eagles on Friday.

Christian McDaniel led the Gators in the win with three touchdowns, the first coming in the first quarter. With Military Magnet ahead by six and 6:18 on the clock, McDaniel ran in a 27-yard run to put six points on the board for Lake View. The conversion failed, leaving the Gators and Eagles tied at 6-6.

McDaniel’s second touchdown came on a 10-yard run with 6:30 left in the first half, with Dwayne Nichols scoring the conversion for a 14-6 lead. Khalil Fields scored again on a fumble recovery and Nichols ran in his second two-point conversion to put Lake View ahead 22-6 at the half.

After a scoreless third inning, the Eagles found the end zone again in the fourth to trail 22-12. But McDaniel struck again on a 5-yard run with 4:05 on the clock and Weston Rogers ran in the conversion to give Lake View the 30-12 win.

McDaniel rushed eight times for 116 yards and Adam Page carried eight times for 76.

The Eagles fall to 3-3 with the loss.

The Wild Gators are now 1-4 for the season as they prepare to travel to Hannah-Pamplico this Friday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m. to open region play.
