Lake View’s Ashley Rogers won the individual competition at the Coastal Preview Golf Tournament at Black Bear Golf Course this past weekend.

Rogers is playing as an individual this year, and led a field of 23 lady golfers, shooting an 80 for the win.

Carolina Forest won the team competition, which is determined by taking the four best scores of the individual team members for each team. Carolina Forest was led by Samantha Schoener with an 84, Nikki Robertson with an 85, and Jamie Karl and Samie Spencer, who each shot an 89.

Other Carolina Forest golfers included Elizabeth Snyder-Mounds with a 94; Kayla Parsons with a 95; Jackie Brown, 96; and Sara Padula, 98.

Aynor finished in second place with Heather Johnson leading the team with an 86. Bailey Richardson shot a 98; Haylee Hardee, 104; Mary Kate Richardson, 121; Lawton Jordan, 132; Taylor Hudges, 140; Maddie Hardee, 141; and Lizzie Hardee, 143.

Myrtle Beach rounded out the field with Miranda Russell shooting a 92; Jasmine Chestnut, 94; Anna Bell Brooks, 119; and Baily Richard, 120.

Rogers spent the last few summers playing golf with the South Carolina Junior Golfers, and finished first in the Pee Dee Chapter of the Hootie and the Blowfish Summer Tour this year, earning the chance to play against some of the best golfers in the state at the SCJGA All Star tournament. Rogers is scheduled to play three more tournaments this week in Conway and North Myrtle Beach.
