The Dillon Soil & Water Conservation District has awarded, Ag Student at Dillon County Technology Center, and class senior, Justin Roberts, a scholarship to attend the South Carolina Districts Youth Workshop.
This workshop will be held June 24-28th at Lander University in Greenwood, SC and is being sponsored by the SC Conservation Districts Foundation.
The workshop is structured such that teams of students are assigned an adult counselor who works with them for the entire week.
Together, the team works to accomplish goals while studying the environment from a variety of perspectives. Instructors are all working professionals in natural resource conservation or faculty members with the University. Lander University supports the workshop through facilities, staffing, administrative functions, and also offers a four year scholarship to an eligible student who attends the University to major in Environmental Science.
