COLUMBIA, SC (June 14, 2013) – A Dillon man didn’t have a clue how much his Carolina Cash 6 ticket was worth until lottery representatives told him.
 
Hearing $200,000 TAXES PAID for the first time left him shaking his head.
 
“I don’t even know what the winning numbers are,” he confessed.
 
He matched them all – 4, 6, 8, 14, 32, and 33 for Monday June 10’s drawing.
 
“I’ve never won anything in my life,” he said.
 
Hours earlier he was at Selma Convenience Store on Hwy. 9 in Dillon having the ticket he bought from them for Monday drawing checked.  The clerk told him his Carolina Cash 6 ticket was a winner, but for an amount more than the store could pay out of the register.  He’d have to take the ticket to Columbia to see about it.  Knowing nothing more, he drove straight to the Lottery’s Claims Center to find out what he had won.
 
“I haven’t even told my wife,” he said. “I have no idea what she’ll say.”
 
A six-number game, Carolina Cash 6’s top prize includes Federal and state taxes which are withheld to net $200,000.
 
Odds of winning the $200,000 TAXES PAID top prize are 1 in 920,227.
 
Selma Convenience Store in Dillon received a commission of $2,941.43 for selling the claimed ticket. This marks the second top prize win since the game launched in April of this year.
 
Carolina Cash 6 drawings are Mondays and Thursdays at 6:59 p.m.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
