The Latta Police Department captured a wanted North Carolina  man on June 8th.
According to a report by the Latta Police Department, Latta Police Officers Andy Britt and Kevin Daniels were notified that a wanted man was possibly in the Latta area.
Officers kept their eyes open and Officer Britt spotted the suspect’s vehicle at a Latta motel.
Chief Crystal Moore was notified as well as the motel owner. Police determined from the paperwork provided by the motel owner that this was the suspect.
The suspect was wanted  for first degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, and assault and battery of a serious nature.
Officers were told that the suspect was to be considered dangerous and that all caution should be taken in apprehending him.
Several deputies from the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and a SLED agent arrived to assist.
Chief Moore tried the room key provided by the motel owner, but it did not work. Deputy Troy Jones, upon Chief Moore’s request, kicked in the door.
The suspect was in the room. He was taken into custody and taken to the Dillon County Detention Center.
