Dillon’s Lady Wildcats finished first in the 4×100 Meter Relay in the Class AA State Championship Meet on Saturday, May 11, at Lower Richland High School. The team included Dejah Tyson, Justice McLellan, Adriana McCollum, and Jessica Manning.
In the qualifying meet on Saturday, May 4, the 4×100 Meter team finished in fourth place while the team of Linzy Boatwright, Shaimyra Sowells, Jewel Richardson, and Shea Carmichael finished eighth in the 4×800 Meter.
The Dillon girls took first place in the 4×400 at the Lower State event with the team of Shea Carmichael, Jessica Manning, Linzy Boatwright, and Adrianna McCollum.
Also at the lower state meet, Amber Berry finished second in the Girls 400 Meter Hurdles and McCollum finished fourth in the 400 Meter Dash. Tejah Breeden also finished seventh in the High Jump.
In the boys lower state meet, Dillon’s Ahmad Nelson finished second in the 100 Meter Dash, and the Wildcats finished eighth in the 4×100 Relay with the team of Corey Whittington, Ezra Lighty, Daqun Mills, and Ahmad Nelson.
At the State Championship meet on Saturday, the Dillon girls finished sixth overall. The 4×100 Relay team finished first with a time of 49.33; the 4×400 Relay team finished sixth with a time of 4:18.33; and the 4×800 Relay team finished eighth with a time of 11:22.69.
Adrianna McCollum finished second in the 400 Meter Race; Amber Berry took third place in the 400 Meter Hurdles; and Tejah Breeden finished fourth in the High Jump.
In the boys state meet, the Wildcats finished 19th overall. Ahmad Nelson finished second in the 100 Meter with a time of 10.85 and the 4×100 Relay team finished seventh with a time of 43.71.
