The Dillon Wildcats took a 6-4 loss from the Blue Jackets at Aynor on Tuesday night in varsity baseball action.
The win secures a third place finish for the Wildcats in Region 8-2A. Dillon is 6-3 in the region, including two losses to Waccamaw. Aynor is in second place and will face Waccamaw for the region title tonight.
In Tuesday’s game, Aynor’s Quin Prosser picked up four RBIs to help the Blue Jackets claim the win.
Duncan Callahan took the loss on the mound for Dillon, allowing four hits and three earned runs while striking out nine. It was his first loss of the season.
Weston Bailey hit a home run with two RBIs for the Wildcats, and Ethan Hayes doubled with the bases loaded to pick up Dillon’s other two runs.
The Wildcats are 8-4 overall in the regular season and 6-3 in the region. Dillon will be at Lake View tonight at 6:30 p.m. to take on the Wild Gators in a non-conference game. On Friday, Dillon will host Marion at 6:30 p.m. to wrap up the regular season for the Wildcats. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
