The Dillon County Council for the Aging serves the 60+ population of Dillon County by providing services that make a positive impact in their daily life.
There is no charge for most services provided; however, they do encourage confidential client donations that are used to expand services.
Congregate Meals
Congregate Meals are served in the senior center Monday – Friday at noon. These meals are prepared by Senior Catering in Bennettsville and transported to our kitchen each morning.
A reservation system is in place to determine how many seniors will be attending for lunch and to help us assure there is an adequate amount of food for those signed up daily.
Not only do seniors enjoy a delicious meal but they can enjoy socializing with others, participating in activities and making new friends.
Aerobics Classes
Low-Impact Aerobics classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. They have a certified aerobics instructor, Donna Hill, that conducts the classes. This is a terrific way for seniors to improve their health and enjoy the company of others.
Home-Delivered Meals
The home-delivered meals are prepared by Senior Catering and transported to the kitchen each morning.
The home-delivered meals are packaged and delivered on one of our three routes, Monday – Friday. These meals are for seniors who have been determined unable to attend the nutrition site due to their health. These daily meals allow the recipient to remain in their own homes independently for as long as possible.
At this time, they have a waiting list for the home delivered meals; however, it is best for the potential recipients’ names to be added to this list for future reference. Also, the agency can provide private pay home delivered meals, $5.50 each, on their existing routes.
Blast Frozen Meals
Blast Frozen Meals are delivered once a week to seniors in the rural areas of Dillon County. These meals can be microwaved or heated in the oven when ready to eat. Each recipient receives seven meals per delivery. These meals are made possible by state funding.
Home Care Services
Home Care Services are provided to seniors that are unable, due to health reasons, to clean their own homes every two weeks.
This service helps them to remain in their own homes independently for as long as possible.
At this time, they have a waiting list for the home care services; however, it is best for the potential recipients’ names to be added to this list for future reference.

Transportation is provided throughout Dillon County on a scheduled basis.
