The Dillon Christian School Warriors fell 59-42 to the visiting Marlboro Academy on Monday night as the Warriors celebrated senior night.

Seniors Tanner Nygaard and John Michael Price were both recognized before the game, and Mrs. Ruth Price was honored by the Dillon Christian School cheerleaders for seven years of service as cheerleading coach.

Marlboro Academy opened the game by outscoring DCS 13-11 in the first quarter. They widened the gap with a 9-5 second period to lead 22-16 at the half, and then took a commanding lead in the third by outpacing the Warriors 26-10. Dillon Christian rallied for a 16-11 fourth, but it wasn’t enough to get them within range as the Dragons remained undefeated in SCISA Region 4-2A.

Tyler Davis led the Warriors with a team-high 11 points and John Michael Price added 10. Mark Minges scored eight, Will Brown earned seven, and Jim Carr added three, with Matt Jordan scoring two and Matthew Price adding one for the Warriors.

Malcolm Calhoun led Marlboro Academy with a game-high 20 points and Will Bundy scored 12 with Chase Bruner adding eight and Stephen Andrews scoring six. John Beaty scored five for the Dragons and John Rhett Covington and Sam Pruitt each added four in the win.

The Warriors were scheduled to host Christian Academy on Tuesday night and will be on the road to face Pee Dee Academy on Friday with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
