Dillon Christian School’s junior varsity girls’ basketball team defeated the visiting King’s Academy Lions 31-18 on Tuesday, December 11.

The Lady Warriors took a 10-2 lead and outscored the Lady Lions 5-3 and 11-7 in the second and third quarters. King’s Academy went 6-5 in the fourth, but it was too late to close the gap.

Dillon Christian’s Samantha Carpenter led the Lady Warriors with 10 points and Sara Bass scored seven, including one three-pointer. Julia Allen added four points and Hannah Walters scored two, with Lizzie Outlar and Erin Hamer each sinking free throws for one point each.

Carpenter picked up four rebounds and Bass, Allen, and Walters each grabbed three. Anna Thompson and Ansley Hamer picked up two rebounds each and Erin Hamer and Myra Bracey each had one. Bass made six steals and Erin Hamer had three, with Thompson, Allen, and Carpenter each stealing twice. Bracey and Walters made one steal each. Erin Hamer and Ansley Hamer were also credited with one assist each.

The junior varsity Lady Warriors are now 2-3 overall and 1-2 in SCISA Region 4-2A. The Warriors were scheduled to face Marlboro Academy on Friday, December 14, but results were not immediately available.

All the Dillon Christian basketball teams are on break for the holidays, but the Warriors will return to action on Tuesday, January 8, when they are scheduled to travel to Robert E. Lee Academy with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
