ART WINNER—Jerrette McCrimmon of Wadesboro, N.C. was announced the first place winner in the first annual 2012 Treasures of Anson art contest at the 2nd Sunday Art Reception of the Anson County Arts Council held Aug. 12. The contest was a celebration of the bluebird, therefore the focus of the piece had to be recognizable as a bluebird to enter. McCrimmon created a brilliant depiction of a bluebird with, according to judges, “skillful use of airbrush” on canvas. Jerrette, a Dillon native, is a 1996 graduate of Dillon High School and is the son of Myrtle McCrimmon of Dillon. (Contributed Photo)
