First Sgt. Harold G. Carmichael (Officer Friendly) is retiring from the Dillon Police Department with 28 years of service.
He graduated from Dillon High School in 1974 and then attended Florence-Darlington Technical College from 1981-1984 and graduated with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Carmichael served six years in the Military from 1981-1984.
He was hired with the City of Dillon Police Department in April of 1984 and was the first to hold the rank of First Sergeant within the department.
“I would like to give thanks to Chief Joe Rogers. I have really enjoyed my job as a police officer and helping people in the City and County. I also enjoyed helping the kids and school staff at the elementary schools,” said First Sergeant Carmichael.
