Due to the unusual circumstances that occurred with the June primary election, The Dillon Herald is revising its policy to apply to the November 12th General Election only regarding free political announcements for candidates. All candidates for the November General Election, who reside in Dillon County, may place a free article announcing their candidacy. Candidates may run free of charge, one two column by seven inch announcement which includes a one column by two and a half inch photograph. Additional space may be purchased at the current advertising rate. We do not guarantee that the candidate’s photograph will run in color nor do we guarantee front page placement or a particular run date. Announcements must be received no later than 5 p.m. on August 24th. Candidates will only be allowed to run one free announcement for the November 12th General Election. Letters to the editor regarding candidates or the election must be run as paid advertisements.
