A local man has been charged with two counts of a sex crime, according to Detective Cliff Arnette.
Maurice Eugene McKenzie, 56, has been charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor second degree and one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor first degree.
The alleged incident with one victim happened some years ago. The other was reported on July 2nd.
Arnette said that McKenzie turned himself in on July 3rd.
At a bond hearing in General Sessions Court, a $75,000 surety bond was set and a no contact order was issued. Also, he cannot leave the county except for work without permission of the court, and he cannot live where there are children, according to a report from court.
