The Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA) and the Florence County Library are offering consumers FREE e-mail fraud alerts. Consumers can receive tips on the latest scams by sending an e-mail saying “sign me up” to florencefraudalerts@gmail.com.
These alerts are a great line of defense against lottery, debt collection, and grant scams, amongst others.
The best way to avoid fraud and protect your wallet is to get educated!
The fraud alert service is part of the Smart Investing @ Your Library® initiative, funded by a grant from the FINRA Investor Education Foundation in partnership with the American Library Association. For more information on these alerts please visit http://florencelibrary.org/wordpress/?p=4268.
