Two men have been charged in connection with an attempted murder at Henry Street Park on April 20th.
Shaheed Hayes, age 21, of Latta, has been charged with attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of crack, according to the Dillon County Detention Center.
Terrence Jermaine Thompson, age 18, of Latta, has been charged with accessory after the fact of attempted murder, according to the Dillon County Detention Center.
Police were called to Henry Street Park on April 20th because of shots being fired towards the back of the park.
The men tried to flee the area, but were captured by law enforcement.
Officers participating included Chief Crystal Moore, Sgt. Derrick Cartwright, Officer Malcolm Gerald, and Deputies Tash Pettigrew, John Willie Brown, Tim George, Chaddie Hayes, Michael Barfield, Linda Malmquist, and Mitchell Gardner.
