The Dillon Wildcats took down Manning 10-1 on Thursday and downed the Academic Magnet Raptors 7-2 on Saturday on their way to the District VIII championship game.

Jamie Callahan improved to 7-0 on the mound against Manning, pitching six innings against the Monarchs and allowing just three hits and four walks, with one hit by pitch.

Callahan had a home run against Manning, and Patrick Herring had two hits to lead the Wildcats, while Daniel Huggins had a lead-off double for Dillon.

On Saturday, Dillon’s Duncan Callahan picked up his third straight starting win on the mound, striking out four in the Wildcats’ 7-2 win over Academic Magnet. he pitched five and two-thirds innings against the Raptors.

Kyle Britt doubled twice and picked up two RBI to lead Dillon at bat, and Daniel Huggins had two RBI for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats are 16-2 overall this season as they prepare to head into the Class 2A District VIII title game on Wednesday. Dillon will host the winner of Monday’s game between Wade Hampton and Academic Magnet. The Raptors defeated Wade Hampton 5-3 in the first round, and Wade Hampton eliminated Manning 5-3 in the second to stay alive in the playoffs.
