The “Other Sunday School Class” at Latta United Methodist Church is feeding the need every second Saturday of the month.
The church’s “Feed the Need” program was adapted from a program in Bennettsville.
On the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m., the community’s needy are invited to the church. Those who come go shop in a “store” set up in the church’s fellowship hall where they can get two grocery bags full of clothes. This takes place for about 30 minutes. Then a speaker from the community comes a share a devotion or a testimony follow by entertainment. At approximately 11:30 a.m., those who attended are fed a meal such as vegetable soup, chicken bog, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc.
Those in need are invited to come and take advantage of the program.
The group does accept cash donations to help support this worthy cause. They may be mailed to Latta United Methodist Church, Attn: Feed the Need, P.O. Box 95, Latta, SC 29565.
They will also accept clothing in good condition in all sizes. This may be dropped off at the church located at 306 N. Marion Street in Latta.
