Dillon Christian School’s baseball season is heading to a close this week as the winless Warriors prepare to face Village Christian and King’s Academy.
On Tuesday, April 10, The Warriors had one of their best showings of the season in a 13-8 loss to the Carolina Academy Bobcats.
But on April 13, the Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles swept them 15-0, with the Eagles scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
On Monday, April 16, the Warriors hosted Pee Dee and took another loss from the Eagles, 20-3.
The Eagles scored five runs in the top of the first, with Dillon Christian scoring one in the bottom of the inning. Both teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when the Warriors scored two more runs to trail 5-3. But the Eagles sealed the win in the top of the sixth, adding eight runs to put them ahead 13-3, and then capped the victory with seven more runs in the top of the seventh for the 20-3 finish.
Pee Dee Academy’s Will Daniels picked up the win, pitching four innings for five hits, three runs and five outs. Troy Davis took the loss for the Warriors, pitching three innings for six hits, nine runs, five earned runs, four walks, and three outs.
Pee Dee’s Clay Martin went 4-for-6 with five RBIs; Brian Davis went 2-for-6 with two RBIs; Will Daniels went 1-for-2 with an RBI; and Tyler Page, Carson Rogers, and Weston Rogers each went 2-for-4.
For the Warriors, Jonathan Justice went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Troy Davis went 1-for-4.
Finally, on Tuesday, April 17, the Warriors hosted Williamsburg Academy for a 19-1 loss.
Dillon Christian was scheduled to face Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Monday, and will travel to Florence to face King’s Academy tonight at 5:00 p.m. to close out the baseball season.
