Dillon High School Class of 1960 gathered at the Peddler to celebrate their 70th birthday together. Curt McSwain, 1960 Student Council President, said the blessing, and Jamie Smith, Class President, introduced Mrs. Betty Wallace, who spoke to the group and give them an “assignment.”
Those from outside the Pee Dee area included: Bob Boroughs, Emmy Lou Branch Cook, Buck Edgerton, Gloria Edens Vierse, Donna Jean Gove Oliver, Nancy Hall White, Janice Miles Grantham, Ann Orr Hayes, Dallas Jackson, Jimmy Morgan, Ann Pearce, Montague Lupo Prater, Tom Reaves, Doug Singleton, David Sloan.
Dillon area graduates attending included Juanita Arnette Carter, Charles Crockett Branch, Emily Shelton Hardy Branch, Harold Caulder, Hiram Cook, Mildred Cook, Joann Deann Callahan, Howard Edwards, Florine Daniels Webster, Hazel Hyatt McNair, Margie Hulon Moody, Sidney Ann Young Jackson, Josey Kate Lee Rogers, Faye McGrady Stanton, Carolyn McKenzie, Barbara Ann McNeill, Curt McSwain, Patricia Mills George Daniels, Kay Rogers McLean, Mac Pate, Lib Rowland Taylor, Jimmy Sawyer, Jamie Smith, Sherwood “Digger” Thompson, John Henry Williams, Billie Ann Wilkerson McDaniel, Bobbie Lee Thompson.
On Sunday, April 1, those class members who could ate breakfast at Shoney’s, followed by church at Reedy Creek Presbyterian, and lunch at the home of Curt and Sally McSwain.
