Sheriff Fred Knight is seeking information on the whereabouts of Heath Hamilton Clark, 42 years old, of Elberry Rd., Latta, for Grand Larceny in excess of $10,000 and Trespassing.
On March 3rd, Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a victim who was on their property off Hwy. 34 and found their tractor stolen.
The tractor was described as a Ford 5000 blue in color tractor with a red bush hog. MCSO investigators followed some tracks in the woods and followed up in Dillon County the next day. MCSO investigators were able to find witnesses who saw Clark driving the tractor and the tractor was ultimately discovered in the woods near Clark’s home.
Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and SLED assisted in the recovery.
The tractor was returned to the victim. Clark has a 1988 conviction for Grand Larceny and has outstanding warrants in Dillon County for Breach of Trust w/fraudulent intent and receiving stolen goods.
Clark has eluded Dillon County for some time now and the MCSO has asked for assistance from the US Marshals Service with his capture.
Sheriff Knight said, “Quick response time and good police work were the keys to solving this case. We are always pleased when we can recover a piece of property for a victim like this and build a case to charge the suspect. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Clark, please feel free to call and all information will be kept anonymous.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call the MCSO at 843-479-5605.
