Lake View’s Wild Gators took a tough 14-6 loss from Johnsonville on Friday in baseball action.
The Wild Gators and the Flashes were tied 2-2 at the end of the first, but Johnsonville pulled ahead with three runs in the second and four in the third. Lake View added three runs in the third, but still trailed as Johnsonville added another run in the fourth and two each in the fifth and sixth to lead 14-5. The Gators managed one more run in the seventh to end the game at 14-6.
Eric Munoz went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Hunter Walters went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI to lead Lake View at bat. Brody Smith went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and one run scored. Darius Leonard went 1-for-3 with one run scored and Nate Lewis went 1-for-4 with one run scored. Chris Ford and Steele Mendenhall each went 1-for-4 and John Michael Brown went 1-for-3.
Johnsonville’s Daniel went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Gagliano went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Flashes. Powell went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Phillips went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Johnsonville’s Daniel picked up the win, allowing 12 hits with six runs, six earned runs, four walks, and three outs.
John Michael Brown took the loss for Lake View, pitching four innings and allowing seven hits, five runs, three earned runs, and three walks, striking out one. Brody Smith pitched two innings for the Gators, allowing nine runs, eight hits, six earned runs, and three walks, striking out two.
The Wild Gators will host Carver’s Bay today at 5:30 p.m. and be away at Creek Bridge for a double header on Friday, March 23.
