Our eight-week PTI (Pre Trial Intervention) meeting was held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Riverdale Community Center.
The purpose of this meeting is to sponsor a program by the Solicitor’s office called PTI, which consists of “First Time Offenders” who have been charged with non-violent crimes.
This is an eight-week program that consists of various speakers who share their ideas. In these sessions, there is a question and answer session.
The meeting was opened by Rev. Michael Battle, Chaplain, with prayer. Rev. Battle introduced the speakers and graduate. There was one graduate. He gave a required 250 words plus essay, stating, “ What PTI Means To Me?” It was well received.
He was very appreciative to the staff and speakers for their continual support.
Rev. Michael Battle spoke from John 1:1-10 in great detail and his topic, “Responsibility.”
He asked the participants to individually talk about how they feel about themselves, which they all replied.
Rev. Battle talked about being positive role models for their children and families. He encouraged them to do positive things.
He stated that second chances are earned and not given to you. You can’t fight your battles, but God will fight your battles. In closing, Rev. Battle stated that the word will help and keep you positive. Let God lead you in everything you do.
