The Latta Vikings edged the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans by two points on Friday to pick up a 52-50 win.

Latta got off to an 18-14 lead by the end of the first, but the Trojans outscored the Vikings 13-10 in the second to cut Latta’s lead to 28-27 at the half. Both teams returned to the court for 13 points in the third, and despite a close 13-10 fourth quarter, Latta held on to the lead to win by two points.

Rajit McFadden led the Vikings with 14 points in the win, followed by D.J. Legette with 11 and Donell Stanley with nine. Charles McGill scored eight points for the Vikings, with R.J. McClam earning six, Ne’Quan Williams scoring four, and Tyrell Sabb and Ty’Sean Burgess each adding two.

Devonte Collies scored a game-high 18 points to lead Green Sea-Floyds, with Devonte Dawkins adding 15. Scranton scored seven, Hays earned six, and Thompson added four in the loss.

Latta’s record improves to 7-11 overall and 5-5 in Region 8-A. The Vikings will host Johnsonville tonight and Lake View on Thursday for their final games of the regular season. Game time is at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
