The Latta Vikings fell 78-51 to the Carvers Bay Bears on Tuesday in Hemingway in boys basketball action.
Carvers Bay outscored Latta in every quarter, leading 19-10 by the end of the first and going 18-14, 22-11, and 19-16 in the remaining quarters.
Teondre Bromell earned 19 points and Da’Shaun Aiken scored 18 to lead Carvers Bay in the win. Durant added 12 points; Linnen scored eight; Pittman and Morris each scored six; Harvey earned four; Sumter and Borfey each added two; and Gamble sank one shot.
Ken’Che Page led Latta with 12 points, followed by D.J. Legette and Rajit McFadden with 10 points each. Charles McGill scored nine, Donell Stanley added five, and R.J. McClam earned four, and Ty’Sean Burgess made two points for the Vikings.
Latta is now 4-10 overall with a 4-5 record in Region 8-A.
The Vikings will travel to face Green Sea-Floyds on Friday, but will be back home next week for their final two games of the regular season. On Tuesday, Latta hosts Johnsonville, and on Thursday the Vikings take on Lake View. Each game starts at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
