Dillon’s Lady Wildcats opened region play on Tuesday with a 62-33 win over the Aynor Blue Jackets.

Dillon led 12-8 at the end of the first, with both teams adding 11 points in the second for a 23-19 Wildcat lead at the half. The Lady Cats outscored Aynor 18-10 in the third to widen that lead and it was all Dillon in the fourth as the Wildcats outscored the Blue Jackets 19-2 for the 62-33 finish.

Chelsea Frazier led the Lady Wildcats with a game-high 24 points. Khadejhia Sellers added 14 and Briana Lee earned 12 in the win. Jessica Swindler contributed six points, Shayna Covington netted three, and Justice Dixon earned one.

Chelsea Barrington led Aynor with a team-high nine points, with Hannah Roberts adding eight and Brooke Barfield earning seven. Caprishia Walsh scored three, and Harley Davis and Kimberly Smith each earned two in the loss.

Dillon’s record improves to 10-3 overall, with the win giving them a 1-0 record in Region 8-AA.

The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to travel to Lake View to face the Lady Wild Gators last night in a non-league bout. On Friday, Dillon will be at Mullins for their next region matchup, and on Tuesday, January 17, the Wildcats will be hosting Marion. Game times are at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
