Latta’s Lady Vikings got their third win in a row on Tuesday night as they defeated Carvers Bay 69-36.
Latta led 18-10 at the end of the first and 28-21 at the half before clinching the victory with a 23-3 third quarter. The Lady Vikings wrapped up the victory in the fourth by outscoring the Lady Bears 18-12 for the 69-36 victory.
Tianna Deberry led the Lady Vikings with a game-high 24 points and Jessica Evans added 22 in the win. Brittany Burgess and Ta’Keria Legette each scored five points; Maya Wright and Astaya Lemon both earned four; Kierra Johnson and Jocelyn Vereen netted two points each; and Michia Johnson contributed one point for the Lady Vikings.
Jasmine Cobb and Desaree Green each scored 10 points to lead Carvers Bay, with Jasmine Eaddy adding seven and Quantashia Robinson earning four. Whitney Washington and Rhomona Reed each contributed two points for the Bears.
Latta’s record improves to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in Region 8A.
On Friday, the Lady Vikings will host Green Sea Floyds and on Saturday, Latta is scheduled to travel to Creek Bridge to take on the Warriors. Then on Tuesday, January 17, the Vikings will be in Johnsonville to take on the Flashes. All three region games are set to start at 6:00 p.m.
