A 15-year-old teen, who was being mentored by the sheriff, has been charged with larceny for taking a gun from the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on October 6th and was discovered when an empty evidence bag was found outside.
The gun had been taken from the desk of the evidence custodian.
It was later recovered behind a house on South 10th Avenue.
